We love lip balm. Lip balm is great. But if you've got layers of rough, flaky surface skin sitting on your lips, putting more moisturizer over the top isn't the whole answer. Sometimes you've got to clear the runway. That's where Sucrose comes in.

Sugar provides gentle physical exfoliation to help smooth away flaky surface skin and improve the feel and appearance of rough lips. But we didn't toss sugar into some oil and call it product development.

We paired it with Agave Nectar, Shea Butter, Sweet Almond Oil, Castor Oil, and Olive Oil. Then came Carnauba and Candelilla botanical waxes. Then Carrot Root Extract. And finally, Orange Peel Extract—our botanical Vitamin C component.

Because if you're going to polish your lips... you might as well leave something nice behind.

🍊 What’s Inside (Besides a Very Good Reason to Stop Picking at Your Lips):

• Sucrose - Let's start with the obvious. Sugar. Sucrose crystals provide the physical exfoliation that gives this lip scrub its polishing power. As you gently massage the formula across the lips, the sugar helps loosen and buff away rough, flaky surface skin. And unlike some aggressive exfoliating particles, sugar gradually dissolves as you use it. Simple? Yes. Effective? There's a reason sugar scrubs have been around forever. Sometimes the obvious ingredient is obvious for a reason.
• Agave Tequilana Nectar - Yep. That Agave. No margarita required. Agave Nectar contains naturally occurring sugars and acts as a humectant, helping attract moisture. That makes it a particularly nice partner for an exfoliating ingredient because while Sucrose is busy polishing, Agave is helping support the formula's moisture-loving personality. Sugar + Agave. Apparently we're making lips smooth and making ourselves hungry.
• Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter - Here's where the “Moisturizing” part of the name starts earning its keep. Shea Butter is rich in fatty acids and prized for its ability to soften, condition, and help reduce moisture loss. In this formula, it creates a rich cushion around the exfoliating sugar crystals so the experience feels more like skincare and less like sanding furniture. Important distinction. 
• Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract - Carrot Root Extract contains naturally occurring carotenoids and antioxidant compounds and is valued in skincare for its conditioning properties. It's a nice botanical addition to a formula designed not merely to exfoliate lips, but to leave them looking and feeling cared for afterward. Also: Vegetables in your lip scrub. You're practically having a salad.
• 🍊 Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Extract - Here's our botanical Vitamin C story. Orange Peel Extract is naturally associated with Vitamin C and other antioxidant plant compounds and brings additional botanical conditioning to the formula. Alongside Carrot Root Extract, it gives this scrub a brighter, more sophisticated ingredient story than “we put sugar in a jar.” Because we did. But then we kept going. 
• Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil - A skincare classic. Sweet Almond Oil is naturally rich in fatty acids and helps soften and condition dry, rough-feeling skin. On freshly exfoliated lips, that's exactly the kind of friend we want hanging around. Buff away the rough. Bring on the soft. 
• Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil - If you've spent any time reading quality lip-product labels, you've probably seen Castor Oil. There's a reason. It's rich, highly emollient, and gives lip products a wonderfully smooth, substantial feel. Here, it helps cushion the sugar crystals and leaves lips feeling conditioned after exfoliation. It also happens to be one of the stars in our Plumping Lip Mask. Foreshadowing. 
• Cetearyl Alcohol - Everybody, remain calm. This is not the drying alcohol you're thinking of. Cetearyl Alcohol is a fatty alcohol used in skincare to soften and condition while improving the texture and stability of a formula. In other words, it's helping create that rich, creamy scrub texture. Not secretly plotting to dry out your lips. That would defeat the entire point.
• Lauryl Laurate - Another ingredient with a chemistry-lab name and a very practical job. Lauryl Laurate is an emollient that helps improve slip, spreadability, and the smooth sensory feel of cosmetic formulations. For a lip scrub, that means the formula moves comfortably across the lips while the sugar does its polishing work. Because exfoliation should involve gentle circles, not tug-of-war.
• Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil - Olive Oil has been used in skin care for generations and is naturally rich in fatty acids and antioxidant compounds. It helps soften and condition dry lips while adding another nourishing plant oil to the formula. Sweet Almond. Castor. Olive. We didn't exactly skimp on the oil department. 
• Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax - Carnauba Wax is a plant-derived wax obtained from the leaves of the Brazilian carnauba palm. It helps give the scrub structure and staying power while contributing to the protective, conditioning layer left behind on the lips. Because all those beautiful oils need somebody keeping them organized. Carnauba volunteered. 
• Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax - Botanical Wax Number Two. Candelilla Wax comes from the candelilla shrub and helps create a smooth protective layer that reduces moisture loss. Combined with Carnauba Wax, it gives the formula body and helps keep the moisturizing ingredients where they're supposed to be. On your lips. Novel concept. 
• Glyceryl Stearate - One of our behind-the-scenes workers. Glyceryl Stearate functions as an emollient and formulation helper, contributing to the smooth texture and even distribution of ingredients. Not every ingredient needs a billboard. Somebody has to keep the show running backstage.
• Flavor - Because we're putting this on your mouth. Seems reasonable that it should be pleasant. Flavor gives the scrub its lip-friendly finishing touch and helps turn exfoliation from something you should do into something you might actually want to do. Funny how that works.
